Cape Panwa Beach is a medium sized beach on Phuket’s east coast, at the tip of tip of Cape Panwa. The high hill above the beach serves to give Cape Panwa Beach a secluded feel. It is convenient from Phuket Town take a short 12 km. (7.5 mi.) drive down to the beaches of Cape Panwa.

Cape Panwa isn’t a great swimming beach, wading beach, snorkeling or windsurfing beach. It’s basically just a nice escape from Phuket Town and development on the island. People who need a break from town will come down to have a long lunch at Cape Panwa Beach or maybe take a boat to one of the islands just off shore.

    Located in the middle of Cape Panwa and by The Pullman Phuket, is this lovely little restaurant serving Thai dishes with a seafood focus that you’ll love. Certainly, the reviewers of this little eatery went overboard with their joy over finding the place. Stick with the Thai food for the best experience, and the Caesar Salad was mentioned a couple of times as being exceptional.

    Prices are good too!

    Live India Indian Restaurant – This charming restaurant has authentic Indian food, cooked by Indians! Some reviewers from India loved it. Many reviewers said the food was tasty and the service was stellar. Some top dishes are Mutton Bhuna, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori, and Chicken Korma. Menu items are a bit pricey, like all restaurants on the cape. No real view from here, but the food makes a stop worth it. Close to Ao Yon Beach on the West side of the cape.

  • Kantary Bay Hotel

    Kantary Bay Hotel is located across the road from the beach. It’s only a 5-minute walk from the Phuket Aquarium. Studios have kitchen areas, coffee maker, washer and dryer, and some studios also have balconies. The three restaurants are Italian, Seafood, and Thai, with a nice bar.
    There are two outdoor pools, a fitness facility, and the hotel is near the beach, shopping, and other restaurants and bars. Service was mentioned as a highlight by a number of guests.
    Room rates are around 2,000 THB per night for off-season bookings, which we found to be very reasonable in this area.

    Sri Panwa Phuket Luxury Pool Villa Hotel – At the very end of Cape Panwa are these luxury villas with everything you could ever want in a beachfront villa resort on Phuket Island. Spectacular views look out over the Andaman Sea with small islands dotting the seascape. There is a small private beach and Japanese restaurant that guests rave about. Highly recommended.

    You’ll find these luxury villas online during off-season for 16,000-18,000 THB starting rate.

    Note, these villas are located on the opposite side of the peninsula, but still very close to Panwa Beach.

    Amatara Wellness Resort – This is a very large resort property with many rooms. Rates start at around 7,500 THB per night. For this, you get many great features. Dine at the rooftop bar or a beach restaurant. They have a beautiful infinity pool and spa, yoga, and tennis on offer.

    Patios with sea views, plunge-pools, and 3 restaurants. Breakfast available. Rooms have large flat-screen TVs, iPads, WIFI, and the kitchen has plenty of amenities.
